Apparently Nikki Sixx and Kat Von D are slobbering all over each others’ tattoos again, and Kat’s so afraid of hurting her boo’s little baby bunny feelings that she has threatened to sue her show’s own producers if they showed footage of her insulting him. Because she was riding high on boner fumes during her brief but disgusting tryst with Jesse James (and because she is a paragon of elegance and poise) Kat took it upon herself to rip Nikki a new one while the cameras were rolling for her TLC show “Ink”. After abandoning Sandra Bullock’s sloppy seconds, Von D reportedly “freaked out” at the possibility that beloved would hear her smack-talking him on any upcoming episodes…and do what? Cry into his black velvet pillows? Write about it in his emotions journal? CALL HIS MOM?
Von D demanded any potentially offensive moments be edited out of the series, as well rejected a “Jesse vs. Nikki” plot line that seems designed to induce vomiting spice up the series. We’ve all heard wedding horror stories of drunk relatives and freak thunderstorms, but the most gag-inducing tale we’ve come across has to be when Hilary Duff lost a tooth on her wedding day. Note: we use the term “tooth” loosely, as Hil famously replaced her choppers with boogie-board sized veneers a few years ago. As Duff explained to Ellen on this coming Monday’s episode, “I bit into a bagel. I was sitting on the bed with my mom and my sister, and they’re like, ‘You’re an idiot. You did not. Come on.’” O my god! That’s disgusting! Hilary Duff eats carbs? Once Duff realized that her toof had declined to attend her nuptials, “I burst into tears. Then I started laughing at myself, and then I really burst into tears.” Which is funny because that’s exactly what we did when we read this story!
Exclaimed Duff, “Thank God I didn’t swallow [my tooth]. Not good for a bride on her wedding day.” Yeah, that has to be some sort of seriously bad omen. No one wants something old, something new, something borrow, and something that has fallen out of a body cavity and into your breakfast sandwich. Luckily, a friend of Hilary’s wedding planner’s sister’s husband was able to glue the sucker back into place, and the rest of her wedding to hockey player Mike Comrie went beautifully. Well that’s certainly a relief. Despite reports implying that Christina Aguilera was abused by husband Jordan Bratman, it now appears that the split lip has nothing to do split up. It looks like the singer really did just take a tumble.
Days before their separation was announced, Christina was treated at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for a bloody lip. Bratman told the staff that she had simply fallen down, yet rumors began to fly speculating that she received her injuries in a final blowout that ended their marriage. But according to TMZ, friends of the couple insist that she sustained her cuts and bruses as the result of “a simple fall. It’s as innocent as that.”
Obviously divorce is never a nice thing, particularly when there are children involved. But at least all of this nasty stuff proved to be false.

Lindsay Lohan Avoids Jail, Gets More Rehab

Lindsay Lohan has been sentenced back to rehab until January 3rd 2011 at the earliest. Judge Elden Fox has also ordered her to receive drug testings between her release from rehab and her next court date set for February 25th. We’d say got off pretty easy, considering the D.A. was aiming to put Lindsay behind bars for 180 days. She also gets her SCRAM anklet removed this afternoon
This latest appearance is court comes as a result of her violating probation by failing two drug tests in September. Despite Michael Lohan’s assault last night, he was on hand to witness the sentencing, as was ex-wife Dina. Lindsay was understandably emotional as she read aloud a handwritten letter to the court, and by the end of the hearing she could only offer a tearful “thank you” to Judge Fox.
Although the choice between jail and rehab can’t be that difficult, we’re hoping that Lindsay’s desire to return to the Betty Ford Clinic shows that she really wants to change. We’re glad she’s going to a place where she can get the treatment she needs to heal.

The actor’s rep confirmed, “It’s true pending clearance of cast and crew background check,” which will hopefully weed out the strange new P.A. who looks  lot like Mel in blond wig and heels. Kanye West pretty much had the best night ever. First he pregamed by sailing around the Hudson River on a yacht for Kim Kardashian’s intimate 30th birthday bash. Now, that would easily be enough to make our top ten dream evenings, even with the lack of a million-dollar cake. But this is Kanye we’re taking about and he’s just getting warm.

Heavily backed by out-of-state oil companies it has the potential to undo much of what California has already gained in the fight for clean air and clean technology leadership. With so much at stake, Hollywood is stepping forward with the power of its influential muscle to beat back the profit centric oil conglomerates and make sure Californians vote NO on Prop 23. Loosely veiled as a pro job aid proposition, there’s a lot more to this issue than most people realize and Hollywood heavy hitters like James Cameron, Robert Redford, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Edward James Olmos, Amy Smart and David Arquette, among many others, are working hard to get the truth out there and educate the public about what Prop 23 would really do to further damage the California economy and cripple clean air efforts.
Subsidized predominantly by out-of-state finance and oil companies, including Texas-based Valero and Tesoro Corp. (who have collectively put over $5m into the campaign), Prop 23 would suspend California’s landmark 2006 Global Warming Solutions Act (AB 32) until the state unemployment level stays below 5.5% for a full year. AB 32 requires California to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 1990 levels by 2020 and has been seen by many as a catalyst to the clean tech/ renewable energy industry boom in the state. While unemployment in California currently sits at 12% and jobs are indeed badly needed, it’s interesting to note that the unemployment rate in California has only fallen below 5.5% three times since 1970. Many see this measure as a ruse to indefinitely delay climate change actions. It also doesn’t take into account the fact that California is now leading in the clean tech arena and with its burgeoning green industry supported by the state’s current initiatives, new job growth in this sector has a greater potential to right the California economy than the damage to economic growth that passing Prop 23 would have. Speaking to this point at a rally last week, environmental advocate Van Jones, was quoted as saying that Prop 23 “threatens to kill off California's green tech industry, one of the few bright spots in job growth even as other countries, like China, invest in green technology development”. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, also on the attack against the oil companies and right wing groups bankrolling Prop 23, warned that the ballot initiative would not only cripple clean technology – the fastest growing sector of California's economy, but would delay the planned 2012 launch of a regional carbon trading market that could help spur California’s economic growth even further.
One of the biggest questions Prop 23 poses is just why Texas oil companies and out-of-state financial moguls should be influencing air quality standards in California to begin with. Hollywood’s NO on Prop 23 champions are shouting out against the very thought. Director James Cameron, one voice among many who care about both the health of Californians and humanity’s future, has backed the campaign against Proposition 23 with a $1million infusion. Longtime Hollywood environmental icon Robert Redford slammed Prop. 23 in recorded calls that went out last week saying, "Texas oil companies paid to put Prop. 23 on your ballot and if they are successful, it will repeal California's historic clean air and energy laws. Prop. 23 will result in more air pollution and will kill hundreds of thousands of clean energy jobs in California." Lending his own quirky twist to the campaign against Prop 23, David Arquette threw in with environmental groups to star in a series of online viral videos aimed at younger voters labeled the "Don't Mess with California" campaign. Arquette, a firm believer that supporting the environment is too important to ignore, was quoted as saying, "My belief is that the most important aspect of celebrity is you can raise awareness, lend your name and support to certain things and get people talking. That's why I'm here."
This is absolutely an environmental issue too big to ignore and Hollywood is showing its support for California’s leadership in the green economy. 24th Annual UNICEF Celebrity Pumpkin Carving Contest

Even a serious collection of election coverage hangovers couldn't keep Calgary's fearless media teams away from UNICEF's 24th Annual Celebrity Pumpkin Carving Contest this week.
Pitting teams from Global News Hour Final, CTV Calgary, Citytv, FFWD Weekly, Where Calgary Magazine, Calgary's Child Magazine, Jack FM, Lite 96, X92.9, Shine FM, Q107 and the Virgin Morning Show against the likes of Calgary Transit, the Calgary Fire Department, Animal & Bylaw Services, EMS, the Calgary Roughnecks, the Stampeder Outriders and the Hyatt Regency, it was another gooey battle of artistic greatness.
Lite 96 took the illustrious Judges Choice award this year for its Venus Pumpkin Fly Trap, with honourable mentions going to Global News Hour Final and Calgary Fire.
Oct. 31 is National UNICEF Day, and funds raised through this year's Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF campaign will go toward providing the basic needs of water, food, shelter and vaccinations for needy children around the world. 2010 Calgary Business Hall of Fame Gala
Without a doubt, one of the most prestigious awards one can be honoured with in these parts is an induction into the Calgary Business Hall of Fame.
The organization's annual Gala Dinner and Induction Ceremony took place this week at the Hyatt Regency, where 2010 Hall of Fame Laureates were joined by Peter Mansbridge - CBC News Chief Correspondent and anchor of The National, who played handsome host of the evening affair.
This year's trifecta of tremendously accomplished laureates included John Forzani -- founder and chairman of the board of The Forzani Group and chairman of the Calgary Stampeders, Alvin Libin -- founder of Extendicare, president and CEO of Balmon Investments and a director and owner of the Calgary Flames, as well as family representatives of 2010's posthumous selection, Theodore Rozsa -- oil industry innovator and founder of Frontier Geophysical, Basset Oil and Rozsa Petroleum.
Established in 2004 by Junior Achievement of Southern Alberta, the Calgary Business Hall of Fame honours the lifetime achievements of southern Alberta's most distinguished citizens past and present, who have helped shape the future of our province. The gala dinner and induction, meanwhile, bring together more than 800 of Calgary's most prominent and influential people in business, government and the local community for an evening of celebration.

Artful Bench and Bar Fundraiser for CLERC
Proof that legal professionals can occasionally kick up their heels and have a good time lay in Wednesday night's Artful Bench and Bar event at Hotel Arts.
The annual fundraising bash for the Children's Legal and Education Resource Centre was literally overflowing with lawyers and judges keen to donate their time and dollars to the charitable organization that's committed to providing legal advice, information and representation to local children and youth who have nowhere else to turn for legal support.
The Artful Bench and Bar saw hundreds of sport coat and cocktail gown-clad partygoers bidding on original pieces of art created and donated by members of Calgary's legal community. And bid high they did, with more than $20,000 raised through the evening's live auction.

24th Annual UNICEF Celebrity Pumpkin Carving Contest

Even a serious collection of election coverage hangovers couldn't keep Calgary's fearless media teams away from UNICEF's 24th Annual Celebrity Pumpkin Carving Contest this week.
Pitting teams from Global News Hour Final, CTV Calgary, Citytv, FFWD Weekly, Where Calgary Magazine, Calgary's Child Magazine, Jack FM, Lite 96, X92.9, Shine FM, Q107 and the Virgin Morning Show against the likes of Calgary Transit, the Calgary Fire Department, Animal & Bylaw Services, EMS, the Calgary Roughnecks, the Stampeder Outriders and the Hyatt Regency, it was another gooey battle of artistic greatness.
Lite 96 took the illustrious Judges Choice award this year for its Venus Pumpkin Fly Trap, with honourable mentions going to Global News Hour Final and Calgary Fire.
Oct. 31 is National UNICEF Day, and funds raised through this year's Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF campaign will go toward providing the basic needs of water, food, shelter and vaccinations for needy children around the world. 2010 Calgary Business Hall of Fame Gala
Without a doubt, one of the most prestigious awards one can be honoured with in these parts is an induction into the Calgary Business Hall of Fame.
The organization's annual Gala Dinner and Induction Ceremony took place this week at the Hyatt Regency, where 2010 Hall of Fame Laureates were joined by Peter Mansbridge - CBC News Chief Correspondent and anchor of The National, who played handsome host of the evening affair.
This year's trifecta of tremendously accomplished laureates included John Forzani -- founder and chairman of the board of The Forzani Group and chairman of the Calgary Stampeders, Alvin Libin -- founder of Extendicare, president and CEO of Balmon Investments and a director and owner of the Calgary Flames, as well as family representatives of 2010's posthumous selection, Theodore Rozsa -- oil industry innovator and founder of Frontier Geophysical, Basset Oil and Rozsa Petroleum.
Established in 2004 by Junior Achievement of Southern Alberta, the Calgary Business Hall of Fame honours the lifetime achievements of southern Alberta's most distinguished citizens past and present, who have helped shape the future of our province. The gala dinner and induction, meanwhile, bring together more than 800 of Calgary's most prominent and influential people in business, government and the local community for an evening of celebration.

Celebrity couple- Russel Brand and Katy Perry host grand reception at Jaipur

British comic, Russel Brand and his newly wedded wife US pop-star Katy Perry celebrated their grand reception at the royal destination of Jaipur after getting married among very tight security and live tigers.
The couple got married this week on Saturday in a “very private and spiritual ceremony” which was attended only by very close friends and family.
The wedding venue was the luxury resort right next to the Ranthambore tiger sanctuary where tight security was maintained to do the best that could be done to avoid curious eyes and paparazzi lenses.
The wedding was done in a strictly spiritual Indian style where Russel was leading the procession on a horseback along with camels and elephants by his side. His wife Katy also wore a traditional Indian dress and had henna designs on her palms to mark the ceremony.
Their reception was held in a grand fashion at the luxury Taj Rambagh Palace Hotel which was converted into a heritage hotel in the year 1957. It was the former residence of the Maharaja and Maharani of Jaipur.
